MESSAGE FROM MRS SMITH, HEAD TEACHER
I would just like to wish you all a safe and happy Summer. The last few months have been particularly challenging for everybody, however, all the staff in school have continued to provide excellent support. I am extremely proud of how the school community has supported each other.
I look forward to returning in September and seeing all the children again and welcoming our new Reception intake. I would like to say a fond goodbye to all our year 6 children who have been excellent role models throughout their time at Simonstone. They have lived out our Christian values and I am extremely proud of them - it has been a pleasure to watch them thrive and grow into the young adults that they have become. I would also like to thank all the year 6 parents for their support over the years - a number of whom will not be coming back to the school gates!!
With best wishes
Mrs C Smith

‘The Lord is my Rock’ Psalm 18:2 building a firm foundation based on faith and knowledge to enrich life’s journey. We learn to connect with God through valuing the world we share and nurturing our friendships; working together as a Christian family to achieve our best, learning with confidence to fulfil our dreams.
Welcome to our school
Welcome to Simonstone St Peter’s Church of England Primary School.
The school’s close links with the church and the community are part of its heritage and something that as a school we are extremely proud of. One of the first things that visitors to school comment on is the family atmosphere; everyone is known and valued and we are proud of our warm, friendly, caring ethos which has Christianity at its heart.
The school’s committed, caring and professional staff and governors are united in aiming for excellence and ensuring that every child has the foundations for success based on faith and knowledge. We cherish working in partnership with parents and watching children grow from strength to strength developing resilience and confidence to be the best that they can be. Their journey is enriched by being actively encouraged to be advocates of change and to be active global citizens.
Our school is set in beautiful grounds with lots of green space and a conservation area through which children learn to value the world we live in. We encourage children to appreciate nature as well as engage them in outdoor learning in the various curriculum areas.
We offer a broad and creative curriculum to ensure that all our children flourish and achieve their potential. We have excellent sporting and music provision and offer a wide range of educational visits and extra-curricular activities.
We hope that by choosing our school, your child will thrive in every way taking full advantage of the many opportunities that we offer.
Christine Smith, Head Teacher
Our mission statement was written by the children and is lived out on a daily basis:
At Simonstone School we want all children to:
Be confident and happy about who they are.
Have knowledge and skills for life and to work together and make friends.
Learn to have faith and understand differences.
Learn through Jesus that we are loved and can love; that we can talk to others; find guidance to be a better and stronger person, to know right from wrong and find forgiveness.
Show care, kindness and appreciation in the world.
